Pre-visit preparation such as this engages children in many ways, not least bringing in ICT, DT, and literacy. There is a real sense of discovery and learning, and the outcome is work that has been fun to do, and can be presented in a classroom display.

Fact: Children who are actively prepared for my visit get so much more from the day I spend with them in school.
Fact: Pre-visit preparation adds value to the visit.
